The University of California at Berkeley awarded Dr. Roman Alvarez a MsC and a PhD in 1970 and 1972, respectively. He has worked as a professor and researcher at the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IIMAS) and the Institute of Geophysics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) for the last 48 years. He was the Institute of Geography's director from 1989 and 1977. He served as NASA's Lunar Sample Program's Principal Investigator from 1975 to 1977. He has conducted study on the tectonics, volcanic formations, and electrical characteristics of rocks.

Mohammed Farid has completed his BE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Baghdad, Iraq (1971), ME in Chemical Engineering from University of Swansea, Wales (1975) and PhD in Chemical Reactor Engineering from the University of Swansea, Wales in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, London and an active member of a number of international institutions. He has published more than 360 papers in international journals and refereed international conferences, 6 patents, 5 books, and 11 chapters in books. He has received a number of international awards such as the Matsumae International Fellowship from Japan (1986), the Hisham Hijjawi Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement in Research in 1993, and the Marie Curie Fellowship, from European Union in 2010. He was invited as a keynote speaker to a large number of international conferences worldwide such as iFOOD2013 in Hannover. He has initiated and established the research in NZ in non-thermal processing of food, including high pressure processing, pulsed electric field and UV, more than 15 years ago. In 2015, he was awarded by the International Association of Engineering and Food (IAEF) the “Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr Alexander Strom was Graduated from Moscow State University in 1975. and obtained  PhD in 1999 in the Institute of Physics of Earth and Dr. habil. in Moscow State University in 2022.

He is the Chief expert of the Geodynamics Research Center – branch of JSC "Hydroproject Institute", Moscow, Russia; Deputy head of seismic hazard assessment department, Russian Geotechnical Institute LLC, Visiting professor in SKLGP, Chengdu, China.

He is also the Member of Russian group of the IAEG and of the JTC1; Associate Editor of "Landslides"; Member of the Editorial board of the “Geoenvironmental Disasters” and “Georisk” Journals.

Omar Chaalal is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Abu Dhabi University (ADU). Chaalal is an internationally renowned expert in the separation technologies. He is the inventor of the EnPro Process (Norwegian Company) that deals with the sequestration of carbon dioxide and global warming reduction. He has undertaken several successful research projects related to CO2 cleaning in Natural Gas and subsequently two patent applications have beenfiled for the use of this technology. The benefits of these patents were, in addition to the environmental benefits, used in the treatment of large quantities of desalinated formation water in the oil field. Chaalal has pioneered among others the use of seawater and ammonia to reduce the effect of carbon dioxide on the environment. Chaalal was an associate professor of Chemical Engineering at Ibn Khaldoun University Algeria, as well as at the United Arab Emirates University. He was the Chief Scientist of Enpro As. Norway, a member of Al Mobdioon Center of Excellence and innovation of King Abdul Aziz University (Saudi Arabia), an Advisory Board of IIB environmental Company in Japan). In 2016, he filed a  patent application in the United States in the name of Abu Dhabi University. The work is related to the Enhanced Oil Recovery. In August 2017, Dr. Omar Chaalal was invited to the European Advance Material Congress in Stockholm. He was honored with prestigious IAAM Scientist Medal of year 2017 for notable and outstanding research in the Advanced Materials Science and Technology during award ceremony of International Association of Advanced Material held on 23 August 2017 in Stockholm. Chaalal has authored 78 refereed publications, 2 European patents, 1 US patent related to Green Enhanced Oil Recovery and 200 presentations. Dr. Chaalal contributed as Keynote speaker and Plenary Speaker in several International Conferences and congresses.

Dr Peiyue Li is a professor at Chang'an University. Member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), and also for the International Mine Water Association (IMWA), and the International Association for Promoting Geoethics (IAPG). Associate Editors of Expo Health, Mine Water Environ, Environ Monit Assess, Achiv Environ Contam and Toxicol, and Discover Water, and Deputy Editor of Hum Ecol Risk Assess. Reviewers for more than 120 international peer reviewed journals.

Currently he is the organizing committe member for the World Conference on Environmental Research and Climate Change

Dr. S.J.S. Flora, Ex-Director, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research-Raebareli. Lucknow Campus (U.P.) and also held an Additional Charge of NIPER Mohali for one and half year. Currently, Dr Flora is Director/ Dean at Era Medicsl University, Lucknow, India.

He got his Ph.D. from Industrial Toxicology Research Center, Lucknow, India and was a post doctoral research associate at Utah State University, USA. He served for nearly 29 years at Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) at Gwalior, India before taking up the present position. Dr. Flora has contributed significantly in the area of clinical therapeutic measures for the treatment of arsenic poisoning. His most highlighted contribution includes development of a new drug for treating cases of arsenic poisoning. The drug (IND) was approved by Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) in 2014 for human trials. Phase - I human a trial of the drug were completed by Cadila Pharma.  

He has published over 360 research papers in highly rated peer reviewed journals, including more than 90 Review articles/chapters in international books. He has 14 patents to his credit. There are more than 16000 citations of his work. Dr. Flora has an scientific 'h' index is 61 and serves as Associate Editor/ Member editorial board of nearly 29 international journals like Food and Chemical Toxicology, Environmental Research, Chemical Research in Toxicology, Ecotoxicology Environmental Safety etc He has edited 6 books and the Handbook of Arsenic Toxicology and Handbook of Biological Warfare Preparedness are published by Elsevier/ Academic Press, USA.

He was awarded prestigious DRDO Scientist of the Year Award for his contribution first indigenous drug for Arsenic poisoning, He also was conferred with prestigious Dr Kailash Nath Katju award of Madhya Pradesh Government, Shakuntala Amir Chand award of Indian Council of Medical Research, Society of Toxicology (SOT) and Academy of Biotechnology and Pharmacy’s Life Time Achievement Award in Toxicology and Pharmacy, He is a Fellow, National Academy of Sciences (FNASc), Association of Biotechnologists and Pharmacy (FABP), Academy of Environment Biology (FAEB) etc  and a has served as executive committee member of various national and international scientific societies.

Maulin P. Shah, currently working as a Deputy General Manager – Industrial Wastewater Research Lab, Division of Applied and Environmental Microbiology Lab at Enviro Technology Ltd., Ankleshwar, Gujarat, India, received his Ph.D. (2002-2005) in Environmental Microbiology from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. He has served as an Assistant Professor at Godhra, Gujarat University in 2001. He is a Microbial Biotechnologist with diverse research interest. A group of research scholars is working under his guidance on the areas ranging from Applied Microbiology, Environmental Biotechnology, Bioremediation, and Industrial Liquid Waste Management to solid state fermentation. My primary interest is the environment, the quality of our living resources and the ways that bacteria can help to manage and degrade toxic wastes and restore environmental health. Consequently, He is very interested in genetic adaptation processes in bacteria, the mechanisms by which they deal with toxic substances, how they react to pollution in general and how we can apply microbial processes in a useful way (like bacterial bioreporters). One of our major interests is to study how bacteria evolve and adapt to use organic pollutants as novel growth substrates. Bacteria with new degradation capabilities are often selected in polluted environments and have accumulated small (mutations) and large genetic changes (transpositions, recombination, and horizontally transferred elements). His work has been focused to assess the impact of industrial pollution on microbial diversity of wastewater following cultivation dependant and cultivation independent analysis. His major work involves isolation, screening, identification and Genetic Engineering of high impact of Microbes for the degradation of hazardous materials. He has more than 200 research publication in highly reputed national and international journals. He directs the Research program at Enviro Technology Ltd., Ankleshwar. He has guided more than 100 Post Graduate students in various disciplines of Life Science. He is an active Editorial Board Member in more than 150 highly reputed Journal’s in the field of Environmental & Biological Sciences. He was Founder Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Environmental Bioremediation and Biodegradation (2012-2014) as well as Journal of Applied and Environmental Microbiology (2012-2014) (Science and Education Publishing, USA).  He is also serving as a reviewer in various journals of national and international repute. He is acting as Editor-in-Chief of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering Reviews (Taylor & Francis) Journal since last one year, He is also associated as an associate or editorial board member in 28 journals of Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, IOP, Taylor & Francis, De Gruyter. He has edited more than 175 books in wastewater microbiology, environmental microbiology, bioremediation, hazardous waste treatment.

Dr. Forcellini completed his master’s degree from the University of Bologna in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2006. His master’s thesis, titled, “Studi di Interazione Terreno – Struttura (Study of Soil Structure Interaction)” was collaboratively developed at the University of California, San Diego in collaboration with Prof. Ahmed Elgamal and Dr. Jinchi Lu. Since then, he has continued collaboration with Prof. Ahmed Elgamal and Prof. James M. Kelly at UC Berkeley. He worked as a bridge engineer between 2007 and 2009. Since 2009, he has been teaching at University of San Marino. He completed his Ph.D., “A structural optimized performance based earthquake engineering methodology and risk-management decision making” at the University of San Marino.

Luca Fredianelli is Full-time researcher at the Italian National Council of Research (CNR) and qualified as associate professor in Applied Physics, Physics Teaching and History Of Physics - FIS/07. Contract professor for the University of Pisa. He is a PhD in Environmental Physics, active in the field of Acoustics, with interests in all its aspects and in particular in Environmental Acoustics. More than 10 years of professional experience in the acoustics sector.

Daniele De Wrachien is full professor of Irrigation and Drainage at the Department of Agricultural Engineering of the State University of Milan. He was graduated in Geology at the same University ,where he received his PhD in Applied Geology. He was the director of the Institute of agricultural Hydraulics ( 2000-2006) Director of the Computer Centre of the Faculty of Agriculture ( 1989 - 1995) President of EurAgEng (European Society of Agricultural Engineers ) (2002-2004) Member of the Executive Board of CIGR ( International Commission of Agricultural Engineering ) ( 2006- 2014) Member of the Executive Board of ICID.
